(via Spanish miners’ protest reaches Madrid - in pictures)
You know there’s something wrong with local media when you have to check foreign press to know what’s going on in your own country.

Si yo fuese el padre de la niña herida hoy en Madrid por la policía fascista me buscaba la ruina, seguro.
Little girl hurt by rubber ball in Madrid. The march is pacific, Goverment still sends the police to beat people.
Dunno if I should cry of grab a gun a go berserk.

Tremendas las fotos que publica The Guardian de las burradas que la policía está haciendo con los mineros.
Madrid, today. Police beats women and children, they’re too chicken to face miners themselves.
Spain is a democrahahahaha NO.

_____Everything is burning. EVERYTHING. A lot of my friends that live in small towns are being forced to leave their houses, and if the wind changes, I will probably have to do so.
This is horrible.
You see Valencia? The grey mark? Well, that’s the THIRD BIGGEST CITY in Spain after Barcelona. You can see how BIG the red marks are, right? That’s FIRE. It was raining /ash/ in Valencia a couple of days ago.
And because the government over here is SHIT, a couple of years ago they took more than half of the budget to prevent fire. More than 200 firefighters weren’t hired this year, so there are a lot of small towns that don’t have FIREFIGHTERS. You know where that money went?
To bring the POPE. TO VALENCIA. WHAT THE HELL.
Oh, and do I need to mention that now it is LEGAL to build over carbonized terrain? Yeah. That’s why half of the mountains over here are completely peeled of vegetation, forests, etc. and are covered with fucking APARTMENTS.
It is just so sad. I don’t get humans. Seriously.
Sorry for the rant, but I just needed to post this somewhere.
Just now authorities have said the fire is approaching the nuclear power plant of Cofrentes.
Do you know were our goverment president is right now? Celebrating the victory of Spain in the Euro2012 in Kiev. HOORRAY! Way to go, Mariano!

(via El Washington Post se hace eco de la crudeza del desahucio de Oviedo.)
Eviction in my hometown. The Washington Post writes about it. The Spanish press won’t say a thing about this. We’re going back to a dictatorship, though I don’t know if the dictator is the goverment president or the markets.

It was a Muslim who realized that light ENTERS our eyes, unlike the Greeks who thought we EMITTED rays, and so invented a camera from this discovery.
It was a Muslim who first tried to FLY in 852, even though it is the Wright Brothers who have taken the credit.
It was a Muslim by the name of Jabir ibn Hayyan who was known as the founder of modern Chemistry. He transformed alchemy into chemistry. He invented: distillation, purification, oxidation, evaporation, and filtration. He also discovered sulfuric and nitric acid.
It is a Muslim, by the name of Al-Jazari who is known as the father of robotics.
It was a Muslim who was the architect for Henry V’s castle.
It was a Muslim who invented hollow needles to suck cataracts from eyes, a technique still used today.
It was a Muslim who actually discovered inoculation, not Jenner and Pasteur to treat cowpox. The West just brought it over from Turkey
It was Muslims who contributed much to mathematics like Algebra and Trigonometry, which was imported over to Europe 300 years later to Fibonnaci and the rest.
It was Muslims who discovered that the Earth was round 500 years before Galileo did.
The list goes on………..
Just imagine a world without Muslims. Now I think you probably meant, JUST IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT TERRORISTS. And then I would agree, the world would definitely be a better place without those pieces of filth. But to hold a whole group responsible for the actions of a few is ignorant and racist. No one would ever expect Christians or White people to be held responsible for the acts of Timothy McVeigh (Oklahoma bombing) or Andreas Brevik (Norway killing), or the gun man that shot Congresswoman Giffords in head, wounded 12 and killed 6 people, and rightly so because they had nothing to do with those incidents! Just like the rest of the 1.5 billion Muslims have nothing to do with this incident!
